Handwoven Peace Tussar Noil Striped Silk | 44” Wide | ~ 200 GSM

Description
This refined handwoven Tussar silk fabric is crafted from wild, forest-grown cocoons that have been ethically harvested after the moths have emerged, preserving the complete natural life cycle of the silkworm. Unlike commercial silk, this is true peace silk — spun from wild Tussar fibers that are naturally strong, irregular, and richly expressive.
After weaving, the fabric is gently bleached from its original golden-tan hue into a soft, luminous white, allowing the texture and character of the wild silk to remain visible beneath the clean, minimal surface. The result is a cloth that feels both pure and organic — never flat, never synthetic — with subtle tonal movement and visible silk slubs that speak to its handmade origin.
Woven slowly on traditional handlooms, the fabric carries fine horizontal ribbing and natural striations created by hand-spun yarn thickness and loom tension. These quiet irregularities catch the light softly, giving the surface a subtle, almost architectural texture that cannot be replicated by machine weaving.
At 200 GSM, this is a medium-weight silk with beautiful balance — structured enough to hold silhouette, yet fluid enough to drape with elegance. It works exceptionally well for garments that require both body and breathability: dresses, tunics, jackets, kimono-style layers, bridal separates, scarves, cushions, and refined interior textiles.
This fabric is not designed to look perfect. It is designed to look alive — a modern, minimal expression of a deeply ancient fiber.

• Handwoven on traditional looms
• Bleached only to achieve white — never chemically softened or coated
Every meter carries the imprint of nature, time, and human hands — not industrial uniformity.
The surface will show:
• fine slubs
