Description
This exquisite handwoven Moonga silk comes from Assam, one of the world’s most respected silk-weaving regions. Moonga — often called the “golden silk of India” — is prized for its natural warm ivory-to-gold tone, exceptional durability, and luminous matte glow.
Unlike heavily processed silks, Moonga retains its natural pigment within the fiber. The soft golden warmth you see is not dyed — it is inherent to the silk itself, making every yard subtly alive with organic tonal depth.
Handwoven on traditional looms, this fabric has a smooth, refined surface with a gentle silk crispness and light body. At 90 GSM, it is airy and elegant, yet stronger and more resilient than typical fine silks. It drapes beautifully without collapsing, holding soft structure for garments that need both lightness and integrity.
This silk is ideal for couture garments, heirloom saris, blouses, scarves, dresses, linings for luxury garments, and ceremonial or slow-fashion designs where natural fiber and provenance matter.
