      Description

A distinctive Indigo Handwoven Kasuri denim-look cloth that reads like denim in spirit rather than structure. At 300 GSM, this is a solid mid-to-upper midweight fabric—substantial, durable, and garment-ready, yet not rigid or boardy. The Kasuri (ikat-like) effect creates softly blurred, painterly indigo patterns within the yarn itself rather than on the surface, giving depth, motion, and rare artisanal character. This is a slow-made, provenance-rich textile that feels rooted in craft rather than industrial repetition.

      2) How It’s Made

This fabric is handwoven on traditional looms using indigo-dyed yarns arranged to create a Kasuri effect within the yarn placement, not printed onto the cloth. Instead of a twill, the ground is woven in a stable non-twill structure (likely plain or balanced weave), giving the fabric a cleaner face and more even surface than classic denim. The cloth receives a light, natural finish that preserves breathability, fiber integrity, and the authentic hand of handloom textiles while allowing the indigo to age gracefully.

      3) Technical Specifications

      Fiber: 100% cotton
Construction: Handwoven non-twill ground (plain/balanced weave)
Pattern: Kasuri (ikat-like woven indigo motif)
Weight: 300 GSM (mid to upper midweight)
      Width: 45 inches (114 cm)
Finish: Light, natural hand; indigo yarn-dyed
      Stretch: None (stable woven)
      Opacity: Fully opaque
Face/Reverse: Both faces are similar (no classic denim twill back)

      4) Handfeel & Drape

Dry, substantial hand with visible yarn character and a distinctly handwoven texture. The drape is structured yet wearable—firm enough for tailored pieces but not stiff. The fabric will soften with wear while retaining its integrity and pattern clarity.

      5) Ideal Uses

      Tailored trousers and structured pants
      Chore coats, jackets, and overshirts
      Skirts, pinafores, and structured dresses
      Bags, totes, and durable accessories
      Statement panels or mixed-fabric garments
      (Not suitable for stretch-dependent patterns.)

      6) Wash & Care + Disclaimers (Indigo)

Cold gentle wash or hand wash; line dry
Wash separately for the first several washes
      Use mild, pH-neutral detergent
Turn garment inside out when washing

      Indigo disclaimer:
Mild crocking (color transfer) may occur initially
Expect graceful, gradual fading with wear and washing
Always test a small swatch before cutting yardage
