      Description

This beautifully earthy Eri peace silk fabric is handwoven in its natural beige tone, allowing the silk’s organic character to remain completely untouched by bleaching or dyeing. The warm, oatmeal-like shade comes directly from the silkworm cocoons, giving the cloth a soft, mineral depth that feels calm, grounded, and quietly luxurious.

Eri silk—often called peace silk—is spun from cocoons that are allowed to fully open before collection, making it one of the most ethical forms of silk. The fiber is naturally matte, stronger than mulberry silk, and prized for its breathable, temperature-regulating qualities. When handwoven, it produces a fabric that feels alive with subtle irregularities, gentle slubs, and a tactile richness that machine-woven textiles cannot replicate.

At 252 GSM, this cloth has a beautifully balanced weight. It feels substantial yet flexible, with enough body for tailoring while still draping softly against the skin. The surface has a lightly pebbled texture that adds depth and visual interest without feeling rough—perfect for garments meant to be worn close to the body as well as for elevated home textiles.

This fabric is ideal for jackets, relaxed tailoring, dresses, trousers, kurtas, shawls, throws, cushions, and heirloom slow-fashion pieces designed to age gracefully over time.
