      Description

A rare, deeply considered nettle–wool 3-ply fabric that sits at the intersection of performance, heritage, and slow craft. At 430 GSM, this is a truly heavyweight textile — dense, insulating, and structurally impressive — yet refined rather than bulky. The 70% nettle brings breathability, tensile strength, and a cool, dry hand, while 30% wool contributes warmth, resilience, and natural recovery. The 3-ply construction gives the cloth exceptional depth, stability, and dimensional presence, making it feel architectural, protective, and quietly luxurious. This reads artisanal, long-lasting, and provenance-rich — a fabric meant for serious making.

      2) How It’s Made

This fabric is constructed as a true 3-ply (triple-cloth) textile, meaning three interlaced layers are woven simultaneously and bound together at intervals to create a unified, structurally complex cloth. The yarn blend combines nettle bast fiber with fine wool in a balanced proportion, allowing the strengths of both fibers to complement each other. The finish is clean and functional — not overly softened — so the fabric retains its integrity, breathability, and natural fiber character while remaining garment-ready.

      3) Technical Specifications

      Fiber: 70% nettle, 30% wool
      Construction: 3-ply (triple-cloth) woven fabric
      Weight: 430 GSM (very heavyweight)
      Width: 66 inches (168 cm)
      Finish: Garment/home finish, natural hand
      Stretch: None (very stable woven)
      Opacity: Fully opaque
Surface character: Dense, layered, subtly textured

      4) Handfeel & Drape

Cool and slightly dry from the nettle, balanced by the warmth and resilience of wool. The hand is substantial, firm, and reassuring — not limp, not spongy. The drape is structured and architectural, holding shape confidently while still allowing controlled movement. This is a fabric that stands up rather than collapses.

      5) Ideal Uses

Structured coats, chore coats, and heavy jackets
      Tailored outer layers and wraps
      Sculptural vests and layering pieces
      Winter trousers or overskirts
      Bags, totes, and high-end accessories
Cushions, throws, or statement home textiles
      (Not suitable for stretch-dependent patterns.)

      6) Wash & Care + Disclaimers

Dry clean recommended for best longevity
If washing, cold gentle hand wash; reshape and flat dry
Avoid heavy agitation or high heat (to protect wool)
Steam lightly rather than heavy pressing
Expect natural softening over time with wear
Always test a small swatch before cutting yardage
