      Description

This exceptional handwoven Tussar silk fabric is made entirely from wild, undyed silk yarns, allowing the fiber’s natural brown tone to shine through without chemical interference. The warm earthy hue you see is not dyed — it comes directly from the cocoon itself, giving the fabric a living, organic depth that no synthetic color can replicate.

The silk is spun from wild forest-grown Tussar cocoons, which are gathered only after the moth has emerged. This ethical harvesting preserves the life cycle of the silkworm while producing a yarn that is stronger, more textured, and more expressive than conventional silk.

Woven by hand on traditional looms, the fabric features subtle horizontal striping created by variations in yarn thickness and tension — a hallmark of true handloom weaving. These softly raised lines catch the light beautifully, creating a quiet shimmer and architectural texture across the surface.

At 280 GSM, this is a substantial, structured silk with presence and body. It drapes elegantly while still holding shape, making it ideal for jackets, kimono coats, structured dresses, skirts, shawls, interior panels, cushions, and heirloom slow-fashion garments.
